Experienced company director and successful local businesswoman, Susy Daw, has been appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Police Credit Union Board.
In announcing the high-calibre appointment, Police Credit Union Chair, Alex Zimmermann, said the organisation was thrilled to welcome Ms Daw to her new Board position.
“For nearly 30 years, Susy has been a risk management consultant and business mentor with her own business, MQM Business Consultants, and has worked with leading private and public organisations across tourism, finance and banking, tertiary education, real estate, sport and recreation, transport, the building industry, and all levels of Government,” Mr Zimmermann said.
“There is no doubt that Susy’s extensive skillset, varied knowledge and experience, particularly in relation to strategic, audit and governance risk matters, will be a valuable addition to the Police Credit Union Board,” he said.
Ms Daw has a background in clinical and management roles in the Healthcare Sector, having worked as a registered general and paediatric nurse in public and private sector hospitals, and trained at the Adelaide Children’s Hospital.
“We are proud to offer our unique financial products and services to police, nurses, MFS fire fighters, professional health care workers and paramedics, and Susy is sure to draw on her own experience working in the Health sector as we look to provide more tailored personal banking services to our core bond,” Mr Zimmermann said.
“Susy’s impressive track record as a Board Director includes her role as Deputy Chair on the Women’s and Children’s Health Network, as well as being a current Director on the Anglicare SA Board, Board Member of St Andrew’s Hospital and the St Andrew’s Hospital Foundation and member of the University of Adelaide Council Risk Committee,” he said.
“Rounding out her impressive list of credentials, Susy has more than 18 years’ experience as a facilitator for the Australian Institute of Company Directors and teaches Strategy and Risk for the Company Directors Course, Applied Risk Governance and Governance to protect Vulnerable People,” he said.
Ms Daw started as a Director on the Police Credit Union Board on 16 March 2023 and will also serve on the Board Risk Committee and Board Audit Committee.
