International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on 8 March across the world. This day recognises the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is also a day focused on promoting the acceleration of gender equality.
As part of this year’s celebration, we are acknowledging that at the heart of Police Credit Union’s Marion Branch, is a team of women proving that teamwork, exceptional skills and strong work ethic can drive success in the banking industry.
For IWD 2025, we are celebrating the seven wonderful women who make up our Marion Branch.
This powerhouse team was recently awarded 2024 Branch of the Year for their dedication, exceptional customer service and personal involvement in community initiatives. They’re constantly striving to provide our Members with a customer experience that is second to none, all while supporting and uplifting each other.
The Marion Branch is headed by Branch Manager Amanda, who was asked what the key to her team’s success is, how she would describe their dynamic and what it meant to win Police Credit Union’s Branch of the Year Award for 2024.
“Our team dynamic is characterised by our unwavering commitment to each other and to our shared goals. We thrive on high levels of engagement, where every team member actively participates and contributes their unique skills and ideas. We have created a supportive and collaborative atmosphere where innovation flourishes, and challenges are met with enthusiasm. Support and empathy are at the heart of our team culture, and we ensure that everyone feels heard, understood and valued,” Amanda said.
“We value integrity, excellent customer service and teamwork as our core values and uphold high ethical standards, building lasting relationships with our Members and having each other’s backs.
“It’s always been our goal to be Branch of the Year and achieving this last year as a team was a proud moment for all of us. This award stands as a testament to our steadfastness, hard work and cohesive spirit that drives us to excel. It reflects our collective efforts, positivity and commitment to supporting each other as a team.”
This IWD the goal is to #AccelerateAction to create a world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. Amanda shared with us the strategies she uses to support and elevate her own team.
“I ensure clear goals for the team and for everyone as individuals, play to everyone’s individual strengths, promote open and honest communication, celebrate success and ensure that there is fun every day.”
